However, to become an event manager in a reputed firm or company, one must have an MBA degree along with good public relation skills. Having a degree in public relations along with your Master in marketing will be an added advantage in this profession.

Candidates can pursue diploma/degree/certificate as per their career interest and they must have passed class 12th with any set of subjects and for master’s program candidates must have a valid score of entrance exams such as CAT, MAT etc.

master’s program candidates must have a valid score of entrance exams such as CAT, MAT etc. You need to complete bachelor degree with 45% of marks.

MBA in event management

You don’t need a degree to become an events manager and you can work your way up from an assistant position, gaining experience as you progress. It may be useful to take the Level 2 Certificate in Event Planning, although not essential.

There is no typical route to becoming an event manager and most organisations will recruit as vacancies arise.

You’ll generally work normal office hours in the lead up to an event, but may need to work extra hours, including evenings and weekends, closer to the event.
