What is Geology ? 

GEO : Earth and LOGY : Study It is the scientific study of different aspects of earth Tecnamth Natural Resources of Earth Applications of this knowledge . It is an interdisciplinary science in which the basic principles of physics , chemistry , biology and mathematics are applied . “Geologist” is a specialized type of Scientist who understands the history of the earth that includes solid and liquid matter that constitutes the Earth.

It is the branch of science that deals with the study of the earth, its environment, history, minerals etc. A scientist who studies the earth’s crust to obtain an accurate picture of its structure, history, and composition is termed as a Geologist. 

This discipline of science also deals with various physical components of Earth and processes such as landslides, floods, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, etc.

To become a Geologist, the student must has completed their 10+2 examination from any stream & pursues a bachelor’s degree from any university.

After passing the bachelor degree, students can pursue the master degree

Diploma Courses

The candidates must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent.

Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry

Bachelor Courses

The candidates must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent.

The candidates must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in the B.Sc. examination

B.Sc. Geology

Bsc in geology is a 3 years long undergraduate level Bachelor of Science Degree course. This course can be pursued after completing 12th standard (Science stream).

Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Geology, Earth science, Environmental science.

 arts student are eligibility for this course.This course is a 3 years long course.

Master degree

Master of Science (Hons.) in Geology

Ph.D in Geology

You can do master in arts (geology) after bsc but you can’t do msc after BA.
