A sales manager must have excellent communication skills to succeed. He or she must be able to understand the sales plan and explain it clearly to her sales teams. She must also be able to understand her salespeople’s needs and communicate those needs to the executive level.
Sales Manager has to always keep his motivation level high so that he can motivate others and be responsible for a team of sales representatives.
Sales managers work closely with managers from other departments. For example, the marketing department identifies new customers that the sales department can target. The relationship between these two departments is critical to helping an organization expand its client base. They direct the flow of products and services to customers. They also set goals, assign sales territories and conduct training sessions for sales representatives.
